Early morning at #corbettnationalparkindia Park, the first in Asia. There is more to a forest than tiger. The bird songs, the fresh air and flora and fauna which city dwellers hardly see. I didn't see the big cat but yet I enjoyed the misty cold morning. The flitting colorful birds, spotted deer, barking deer, hyenas and elephants all made up for missing the tiger. I even learned names of variety of trees.. A favourite of elephants is tree with red berries #mallotusphilippensis also called #rohini tree in India. Then there was a crocodile bark tree and Indian Coral tree. Woodpeckers, owls and emerald doves showed up in the thick foliage.... With a concept of salt mound this museum, largest in India and one of its kind, is a tribute to #Gandhi and his vision and tireless efforts towards freedom of India. The salt march against the heavy taxes levied by British started at Sabarmati Gandhi ashram at Ahmedabad ended at beach of #Dandi where Mahatma Gandhi defied British to access salt from sea and salt pans directly. The march that started with a handful of people became a massive peaceful congregation of more than 50000 people joining from all over. This act of defying became a civil disobedience movement where all began to disobey irrational British rules without being violent. The architecture of the museum denotes a salt mound and us aptly named #DandiKutir. The museum houses various life stories of Gandhi presented on screens, audio-visual projections, pictures and texts.
